Artist, designer and researcher. Sara Coleman graduated in Fine Arts and has a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art from the University of Vigo (Received the Extraordinary Prize in Fine Arts from UVigo and the Xunta de Galicia).

She has been a resident artist at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (through a 2018 FormARTE scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Sports) and at the MAC Residences 2017 (Naturgy Museum of Contemporary Art).

In 2018, she received the Julián Trincado Award for her work Pulsión (Biennale 15 Mostra MAC) and, in 2017, received the first prize at ArtsFAD 2017. She was nominated to the 2019 Nebrija University Acquisition Award for Artistic Creation, and the 9th Galician Auditorium Award for New Artists (2016).

As a designer, she won first prize at the 2011 Entrepreneurship Award, was nominated for the Mango Fashion Awards competition, and also a European finalist at the prestigious International Woolmark Prize Contest.
Since 2012, she has participated regularly in both individual and group exhibitions at the MAC (Naturgy Museum of Contemporary Art), at the Museu del Disseny in Barcelona, at CentroCentro_Cibeles, MNAD (National Museum of Decorative Arts in Madrid), at the RAC Foundation, the Eugenio Granell Foundation and the Tecla Hall in Barcelona, among others.

Her teaching career since 2006 spans lectures in various schools and universities, as well as at Esdemga (University of Vigo), LCI (School of Design and Happiness Fashion Duce) and at the EASD Gran Canaria. She has likewise delivered seminars and workshops in EUDI (School of Industrial Design), Fundación Mapfre, EASD Mestre Mateo, Galician Centre for Handicrafts and Design Foundation and at the EOI_Mediterraneo (School of Industrial Organisation), among many others.

Sara is currently doing her PhD at the University of Vigo with a predoctoral grant from the Xunta de Galicia (Regional Ministry of Education, University and Vocational Training).
