Artist, PhD in Fine Arts, and lecturer at the Pontevedra Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Vigo, since 2000.
Her academic training spans a number of institutions such as the Faculty of Fine Arts in Pontevedra (1990/1995); School of Art and Design, Limerick, Ireland (1994); École de Beaux Arts, Le Mans, France (1996/97); and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca (1997/1998).
As part of her artistic activity, she participated in individual and group exhibitions, won recognition at several competitions and biennials, and took part in national and international art fairs. Her work is exhibited in private collections, institutions and museums. She has won several awards and scholarships for her artistry, among which are the Francisco de Goya Painting Prize, Madrid (1996); the L’OREAL First Prize in Painting (2000); the Novos Valores Scholarship (1994); the Caixa Galicia Foundation Master’s Scholarship (1996); and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Scholarship (2001).
She has authored many texts and articles, lectured in museums and art centres, and has participated in conferences at different universities. Her research recognitions include the 2009 Pontevedra Provincial Council Research Prize and the University of Vigo 2008/2009 Extraordinary Thesis Award.

She joined the DX5 research group in 2019.
